Matt Stone Racing has made a change to its Ryco Enduro Cup line-up as Harri Jones will replace Cameron Crick for the upcoming races at The Bend and Bathurst.
Crick was due to contest a Wildcard at Townsville alongside the endurance events at The Bend and Bathurst, but has been forced to withdraw due to poor health.
As replacement, Matt Stone Racing has installed Harri Jones to drive alongside Jack Le Brocq.
Team owner Matt Stone was quick to send his sentiments to Crick and reveal Jones as his replacement.
“First and foremost, our thoughts are with Cameron,” said Stone.
“He’s become a genuine part of the MSR family over the past few years and the team will continue to support him however we can while he focuses on his recovery.
“We’re looking forward to seeing him back racing in 2027.
“He’s (Jones) proven himself at the highest level of Australian GT and Porsche competition, impressed in his Supercars opportunities and comes highly regarded within the GM family.
“While it’s a late change, we’re confident he’ll fit into our program quickly and give Jack and the #4 crew every opportunity to continue the momentum we’ve built this season heading into the biggest race of the year and into the Finals.”
Crick thanked Matt Stone Racing for its continued support during this time.
“It’s obviously tough to be stepping away from the enduros, but right now my health has to come first,” said Crick.
“I’m incredibly grateful to Matt and the team at Matt Stone Racing for the support they’ve shown me throughout this process, and while I’ll be cheering the team on from the sidelines this year, I’m working hard to return back behind the wheel in 2027.”Meanwhile, Jones made an impressive maiden appearance in the endurance races last season at Team 18 and was due to miss after being shuffled out.
“I’m really excited to be joining Matt Stone Racing for the Enduro Cup,” said Jones.
“The team has been really competitive this season and it’s a fantastic opportunity to be part of that.
“I’m looking forward to working alongside Jack and the crew, getting comfortable in the car and doing everything I can to help deliver a strong result at Bathurst.”
Le Brocq is deeply entrenched in the fight for Finals heading into the last Repco Sprint Cup round at Queensland Raceway.
Jones will receive the opportunity to sample Matt Stone Racing’s Camaro at the pre-enduro test at Queensland Raceway following the Ipswich Super440.
