Brad Jones Racing enjoyed a successful round in the third round of the Cash Converters Supercars Eseries at the Fan’s Choice venue, Michigan International Speedway.
BJR’s Jake Burton took victory in the Pro Series race after points leader Jarrad Filsell crossed the line first, but was later penalised 5s after contact for a collision. It was a close finish between Filsell and Burton as just 0.002s separated the pair.
As a result of the penalty, Matt Stone Racing’s Andrew Gilliam took second ahead of the Repco Ford Mustang of Corey Shepherd as he scored his best result of the season.
Jake Kostecki took a last gasp win in the All Star Series race in the Tickford Racing Ford Mustang by just 0.2s clear of BJR’s Aaron Borg and polesitter Jordan Cox in the Swyftx entry.
A combined race between all 36 All Star and Pro Series entries spanning 32-laps ensured a chaotic affair, but as Madison Down took a dramatic win after Brodie Kostecki was involved in a pile up at the final corner.
Down was 32nd at the safety car restart, but avoided the chaos to edge All Star Series winner Jayden Ojeda.
Next, the Cash Converters Supercars Eseries races at Phillip Island.
