Brodie Kostecki has added another victory to his 2026 tally after securing the opening race victory at Queensland Raceway.
It was a dominant display from the Shell V-Power Racing Team driver after winning the jump ahead of pole-sitter Matt Payne to take his seventh victory of the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship season.
Kostecki led the way into Turn 1 from Payne and a fast starting Will Brown, who enjoyed the best start out of the first two rows.
Brown was delayed heading through the opening two corners allowing Chaz Mostert to range up beside the Red Bull Ampol Racing Ford Mustang and the duo rubbed panels during the remained of the opening lap.
Mostert successfully demoted Brown, but the two leaders were well clear at this stage before the first pit stops began on lap 8.
Mostert was the first, followed by Kai Allen as the 2025 champion held a significant advantage back to the Penrite Racing young gun.
Payne made his move on lap 18 and Kostecki the next lap, but both fell behind Mostert and Allen in the order.
Kostecki moved ahead of both when drama befell the duo when Allen fed Mostert off the road to earn a penalty and teammate Payne was the beneficiary.
In the end it was Kostecki, Payne, Brown, Feeney, Allen, Mostert with seventh going to rookie Rylan Gray after nursing mechanical gremlins.
Monster Castrol Racing’s Cam Waters scored eighth from Mobil 1 Truck Assist Racing’s Ryan Wood and Thomas Randle.
