Monster Castrol Racing’s Cam Waters will start Race 15 of the Repco Supercars Championship after pacing the Top 10 Shootout.
The three-segment qualifying session provided many surprises, but it Waters continuing his pace following last night’s drought-breaking victory.
Waters set a 1m 06.038s to remain unbeaten despite the best efforts of Shell V-Power Racing Team’s Brodie Kostecki, who fell short by just 0.133s.
Penrite Racing continued Ford’s domination at the front to place his Penrite Racing Mustang third, while reigning champion Chaz Mostert will line-up alongside in the Mobil 1 Optus Racing Toyota GR Supra.
Kai Allen was fifth in the second Penrite Racing entry from Red Bull Ampol Racing’s Broc Feeney, Jack Le Brocq leading the Chevrolet charge for Matt Stone Racing, Waters’ teammate Thomas Randle, Blanchard Racing Team driver James Golding and rookie Zach Bates completed the top 10.
Big names to miss out included Will Brown in 11th, Andre Heimgartner in 15th, Ryan Wood in 17th, David Reynolds in 18th and Anton De Pasquale in 20th.
Feeney almost joined those languishing due to a long brake pedal, which was solved by a change of pads.
Race 15 of the Repco Supercars Championship from Darwin is scheduled to begin at 3:20pm ACST/3:50pm AEST.
