Red Bull Ampol Racing’s Broc Feeney and Truck Assist Racing driver Jack Le Brocq have taken the pair of pole positions on offer for the remaining two Repco Supercars Championship races at Hidden Valley.
The track was not at its optimum level as many leading drivers struggled to set a time, but not Feeney as he set a 1m 06.142s to lead Andre Heimgartner in his R&J Batteries Racing Chevrolet Camaro by just 0.009s.
Shane van Gisbergen was third in the second Red Bull Ampol Racing Camaro ahead of championship leader Brodie Kostecki for Coca-Cola Racing by Erebus, teammate Will Brown and Nulon Racing’s James Golding made it six Chevrolets at the top.
Mobil 1 NTI Racing’s Nick Percat was first Mustang in seventh from Shell V-Power Racing Team’s Will Davison, Bryce Fullwood in the Middy’s Racing Camaro and Todd Hazelwood driving the Blanchard Racing Team Ford.
Missing from the top 10 were Anton De Pasquale, David Reynolds, yesterday’s race winner Mark Winterbottom, Chaz Mostert, Cameron Waters and James Courtney.
For Race 15, Le Brocq will start from pole after setting a 1m 06.055s as Heimgartner was 0.010s off the pace to again be second, while Winterbottom was third.
Feeney, Brown, Davison, Waters, De Pasquale, van Gisbergen and Pye completed the top 10, while further down the field were Kostecki in 11th, Reynolds was 19th, Percat and Mostert outside the 20, with Courtney again in 26th.
The opening 35-lap encounter gets underway at 11:50am ACST/12:20pm AEST.
