Will Davison and Shane van Gisbergen have split the Sunday poles in Perth.
Davison benefited from a dramatic van Gisbergen-Mark Winterbottom run-in to clinch Race 11 pole.
Points leader van Gisbergen could only qualify 11th, but rebounded to score pole for Race 12.
Van Gisbergen was impeded by Mark Winterbottom on his flying lap in the earlier session.
Winterbottom was immediately handed a three-place grid penalty over his role in the incident.
It marked Davison’s fourth ARMOR ALL Pole Position of 2022, and first pole in Perth.
“There’s always five-hundredths somewhere,” said Davison, who was pipped to Race 12 pole by van Gisbergen.
“Pole in the first one and second then, double front row today.
“It’s where we should have been yesterday… we know the cars are very good in qualifying.
“We’re very focused on the race, we’re doing our best.”
Van Gisbergen clocked an early flyer in the Race 12 session to secure his first Perth pole since 2018.
The defending champion will take a 157-point lead over Anton De Pasquale into the first race.
“It’s a nice surprise, I went off at Turn 6,” said van Gisbergen, who passed Allan Moffat’s pole tally.
“I was still angry at Winterbottom after the first one, big thanks to the team.
“The first race will be tough today, hopefully pass some people and put on a show.”
Walkinshaw Andretti United’s woes continued; Chaz Mostert was 21st and 24th, with Nick Percat 25th in both sessions.
Cam Waters will share the Race 11 front row with Davison, with Tickford teammate Jake Kostecki impressing to third.
Kostecki backed up his pace in the following session with ninth.
Erebus duo Brodie Kostecki and Will Brown sandwiched De Pasquale, who qualified fifth.
De Pasquale will start third behind van Gisbergen and Davison for Race 12, with David Reynolds fourth.
Race 11 will commence at 12:05pm local time, with Race 12 to start at 3:45pm.
