Erebus Motorsport clean-sweep co-driver sessions with Jarrod Hughes leading the way

A late lap from Jarrod Hughes has ensured Erebus Motorsport led the way in both co-driver only sessions leading up to the Repco Bathurst 1000.

Hughes toured the gravel in Thursday’s opening session, but has bounced back since to lead the way in the final co-driver only practice after setting a 2m 05.586s.

The lap time Hughes set was 0.613s clear of the LIQUI MOLY Blahst Racing Mustang of Zak Best, with his teammate Richie Stanaway completing the top three.

Tim Slade was up next in the Penrite Racing Mustang ahead of fellow veterans David Reynolds for PremiAir Racing and the DEWALT Racing Camaro of Lee Holdsworth.

Rookie Reuben Goodall put in a good performance to be seventh in the lead Monster Castrol Racing Mustang, with experienced stablemate Mark Winterbottom ninth split by Todd Hazelwood for the Shell V-Power Racing Team.

Jaxon Evans returned in the repaired Mobil 1 Truck Assist Racing Toyota GR Supra after Ryan Wood’s heavy contact with the Forrest’s Elbow concrete during the third practice session on Friday and was 10th in the session.

Mixed conditions greeted the co-drivers after an early morning shower, but this soon dried out once the session began.

Just as the Mobil 1 Truck Assist Racing crew completed an extensive repair job, rivals Shell V-Power Racing Team did also after Tony D’Alberto hit the concrete at The Dipper.

D’Alberto finished the session 19th.

There were a few interesting moments during the session as Jordan Boys dipped a rear wheel at McPhillamy Park, while Goodall and Hazelwood both grazed the wall.

The final practice session of the weekend is due to begin at 1:10pm.
