Fabian Coulthard out, Chris Pither in at PremiAir Racing

Fabian Coulthard is now the leading contender in the co-driver market after it was confirmed the Kiwi is out at PremiAir Racing.

Much speculation surrounded Coulthard’s place in the team following its change of ownership from Jonathan Webb to top fuel drag racing competitor and PremiAir owner Peter Xiberras last week.

Coulthard and Garry Jacobson remained under contract with their former team owner after the transition of the RECS to Xiberras.

However, the Kiwi was released from his contract thus leaving the door open for Team Sydney’s inaugural driver Chris Pither to return as a full-time Supercars driver.

Jacobson will undertake his fourth season in Supercars competition after it was confirmed he will continue with the new set-up in 2022.

This season marks the first time since 2008 Coulthard has not been a full-time Supercars driver, three years after his main game debut with Tasman Motorsport in 2004.

The Repco Newcastle 500 opens the Supercars Championship season on November 4-6.
