Providing the perfect swansong to the current generation Ford GT supercar, the American manufacturer alongside renowned OEM engineering company Multimatic have unleashed a powerful limited edition model to bid it farewell.
The new model harks back to the Blue Oval’s late-1960s Le Mans golden period by being named the Mk IV, with 67 set to be produced in honour of its first success in the French endurance classic in 1967.
Hand built by Multimatic at its facility in Markham, Ontario, the GT Mk IV will be powered by a ‘unique twin-turbo EcoBoost engine’ producing 800bhp, but no further details have been released by Ford.
Aside from the larger powerplant, the GT Mk IV will feature a long chassis to enhance the handling capabilities, re-worked aerodynamics, a racing transmission and Multimatic’s Adaptive Spool Valve suspension.
Now, if you were hoping to drive the new GT Mk IV on the road then you’ll be disappointed. With no side mirrors, a large splitter, giant wing, rear diffuser, front canards, massive side vents and a carbon fibre roof scoop ensure this model will not feature on public roads.
And what does all this cost to purchase?
