Gen3 testing continues amid livery reveals

Following on from yesterday’s shakedowns for Shell V-Power Racing and Matt Stone Racing, a couple of Victorian teams have hit the track at Winton as another revealed its new livery for 2023.

Victorian-based Ford teams Tickford Racing and Grove Racing are completing a shakedown today at Winton in the first test for each of Gen3 machinery.

Both teams have bought one Ford Mustang to the test, with Tickford Racing’s carrying the #6 used by Cam Waters, with the driver himself conducting the first shakedown laps. Also in attendance are Tickford Racing teammates Thomas Randle and Declan Fraser as both may sample the operation’s first Gen3 chassis later in the day.

Grove Racing’s young full-season rookie Matt Payne was given the responsibility of giving the team’s Ford Mustang its first run. Veteran David Reynolds is set drive later in the day as is star co-driver recruit Garth Tander.

The team revealed its livery last week.

Speaking of new paintwork, Erebus Motorsport has launched its fresh Coca-Cola wrap on the Gold Coast at Movie World theme park.

Will Brown and Brodie Kostecki will enter their third season together at the Melbourne squad as the Supercars prototype Chevrolet Camaro was used to display the new livery, with the operation’s pair of new Gen3 examples still under construction.

Shaw and Partners Financial Services features prominently throughout the livery situated on the front bar, bonnet, windscreen strip and rear wheel arch.

Coca-Cola will back two entries in the ATCC/Supercars since 1996, but did so in the 1997 Bathurst 1000.

More shakedowns are set to occur tomorrow at Queensland Raceway including the first appearance of Triple Eight and PremiAir Racing Chevrolet Camaros.

Matt Stone Racing and Dick Johnson Racing will join the Blanchard Racing Team in having completed test days when both complete running at Queensland Raceway.
