In contrast the drama hosted in the earlier session, the final practice before Qualifying was straight forward as James Golding broke the Chevrolet monopoly to lead the way.
Qualifying simulation was held towards the end of the session when Golding set a 2m 04.649s from the Matt Stone Racing Chevrolet of Jack Le Brocq by 0.112s.
Chevrolets continue to demonstrate strong form as DEWALT Racing’s Anton De Pasquale led Jayden Ojeda from PremiAir Racing and earlier pace-setter Cooper Murray for Erebus Motorsport.
Aaron Cameron continued to improve his form heading into Qualifying by scoring sixth for LIQUI MOLY Blahst Racing ahead of Matt Stone Racing’s Zach Bates, David Reynolds for Snowy River Racing, the Red Bull Ampol Racing Mustang of Broc Feeney and Chaz Mostert’s Mobil 1 Optus Racing Toyota GR Supra.
Many contenders failed to display their hand including the two Penrite Racing Mustangs and Brodie Kostecki in the Shell V-Power Racing Team Mustang due to power loss in the engine requiring a change before Qualifying.
Those back in the pack included Will Brown in 11th, Andre Heimgartner was 17th and Cam Waters scored 21st.
Up next for the Repco Supercars Championship at Bathurst is Qualifying at 4:10pm AEDT.
