Less than 24 hours after claiming his first career Supercars win, Coca-Cola Racing’s Brodie Kostecki has claimed a pole position for Race 5 of the Beaurepaires Melbourne SuperSprint that will take place late this afternoon.
Just minutes later, Red Bull Ampol Racing rising star Broc Feeney scored a sensational pole position for Sunday’s Race 6. At 20 years, 165 days old, Feeney becomes the youngest pole sitter in Supercars/Australian Touring Car history.
Kostecki, from Western Australia, was closely followed by team mate Will Brown from Toowoomba in Race 5 qualifying, marking the first ever front row lockout for Dandenong-based Erebus Motorsport. Darwin’s Bryce Fullwood qualified a career-best third for Race 5, while rookie Matt Payne qualified fifth for Penrite Racing.
In Race 6 qualifying, Feeney was followed by current championship leader Chaz Mostert, who is still chasing his first race win of the season.
Race 5 of the 2023 Repco Supercars Championship begins at 5:30pm AEDT, and will be a 13-lap sprint around the streets of Albert Park.
