Zane Goddard leads co-driver practice session

Triple Eight Race Engineering’s Zane Goddard has led the way in the co-driver practice session at Sandown on Friday.

Goddard is part of the multiple title winning squad’s Wildcard together with veteran Craig Lowndes and set a 1m 09.310s to top the timesheets.

Richie Stanaway was second in the Red Bull Ampol Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 he’ll share with Shane van Gisbergen, while teammate Jamie Whincup rounded the top three.

There was a red flag during the session to retrieve the Snowy River Racing Ford Mustang of Zak Best from the Turn 9 sand trap after he locked up on approach.

Fourth in the lead Ford Mustang was Mobil 1 Optus Racing’s Lee Holdsworth ahead of Jayden Ojeda for Truck Assist Racing and Jonathon Webb in the Nulon Racing Camaro.

Michael Caruso maintained the DEWALT Racing entry’s run in the top 10 to be seventh ahead of both Coca-Cola by Erebus Chevrolets of Jack Perkins and David Russell as well as New Zealand Porsche star Jaxon Evans in the SCT Motorsport Camaro.

Shell V-Power Racing Team’s Tony D’Alberto was 11th, Warren Luff 13th, James Moffat 14th, Fabian Coulthard 15th, Garth Tander 22nd and Alex Davison 23rd.

Co-drivers completed race runs during the second 20-minute session of the day, with another to finish off the day at 3:45pm AEST.
